About Us

Founded in 1990, the Alabama Water & Wastewater Institute (AWWI) is a non-profit association for the larger water and wastewater utilities in Alabama, those that serve more than 20,000 customers.  

AWWI provides members with educational opportunities like the annual conference each fall, which brings in experts from across the water and wastewater industry, as well as regular monthly meetings during the Legislative session each year.  The organization also works to promote the industry and encourage new employees into the industry through its scholarship fund.
